What to send, and what happens to your client

A page to keep. What this practice takes on, what it will not touch, and what a referred client can expect in writing.

1What this practice does not do

This practice does not do bookkeeping and does not take compliance work. That is the point of the page: the work below is the work your client cannot get from you, and nothing else.

The full list is on Standing, scope and terms.

2What to send

Seven pieces of work. Each one is a job your client is trying to do with a bank, a revenue authority or a tender board.

Everything Kanton-West does is set out on CFO services, with what each one is and when it is done.

3What happens to your client

Three things, and they are the reason a referral is safe to make.

A written scope, and the fee agreed up front. Before any work starts your client knows what is being done, what it costs and what done means. Project work is quoted as a fixed fee once the scope is written.

The client stays yours. The books, the returns and the compliance year stay exactly where they are. Kanton-West does not do bookkeeping and does not file returns, so there is nothing here to take over.

You are told what was found. Where the work touches the ledger or the tax position, the finding goes to you as well, in writing, so the next set of accounts is built on it.

4Where it starts

A conversation costs nothing, and if the work is not worth doing that gets said. Where the position is unclear, it starts with the Finance Inspection: R24 500 for one entity, R45 000 for a group or across a border, ten working days from the records being made available.
